lyrics

I saw a stagehand settin' up the walls of Kingdom City
with the merchants of gold and the silver ladies
they were dressin' up the walls while the kingdom sank
said, "they lost our money, but they just got a bank."

Saw a strange hand holding up the walls of our town
with a child's pride and one hand on the ground
and the Mayor left but the walls still caved
It all came to an end as we all come and wait

We will come and wait

I saw a rainstorm headin' to the banks of our city
with righteous winds all void of pity
we were standing on the roof as the shore washed away
said, "nowhere to go, but got nowhere to stay."

I saw a loose end tying up the hands of that storm
heard a stranger's voice on a microphone
and some good folks left but the sun still came
it was drowning us as we all come and wait

We will come and wait
